What a fantastic summer! Many students returned to their home countries to visit their families, but there are a few who decided to remain in Saitama to study and prepare for the University entrance examinations. Some even come back to school everyday for practice in order to do well in the quiz competition next month, Besides helping these students, the school has also welcomed a group of students from the City University of Hong Kong for a short-term study. They are now participating in various sight-seeing trips and events, such as wearing yukata (traditional Japanese summer costume) for the first time. The students commented on how difficult it was to choose between the many patterns because of how beautiful they all were. Although the designs were praised, the tightness of the dress was surprising to many. Holding their stomachs and trying to breathe, they claimed it was uncomfortable. To this, the teachers responded that kimono (traditional Japanese wear) are even tighter, and only tightened their belts more. Even though the yukata were tight, everyone enjoyed the experience and posed attractively for the many pictures. We hope your family in Hong Kong enjoys them! |
