On Saturday, November 14th, Josai University sponsored a Japanese Language Speech
Contest. Our school sent Mr. Tserenpuntsag
from class J3A, who ended up taking the
Sakado Rotary Club Award for his speech ?To All Young Japanese.?
The head adjudicator, also the director of Josai University, commented that listening to Mr. Tserenpuntsag?s address about post-war Japan made him remember the past. To the question posed by the speech of what Japan?s younger generation would be like if they had more goals or ambitions, the director responded that Japan has been quite successful recently in reaching its goals and that is why the younger generation has become what it has. After this, the comment was also made that the speech was consistent in addressing university students from a more adult point of view. There was some critique about Mr. Tserenpuntsag?s pronunciation and so unfortunately he came in third place, but that was the highest ranking of any participant not from Josai University. Although he did not come away with the top prize, the competition was a wonderful learning opportunity. Mr. Tserenpuntsag, congratulations on your award! Everyone else, with all the hard work you put into your studies every day, how about trying this speech competition yourself next year? |
