The 15th Musashi Urawa Japanese Language Institute Entrance Ceremony was held on May 12th. Fifty-eight new students attended, all dressed in suits adorned with a pink corsage on the chest.
The event included the conferment of official entrance certificates, speeches from the principal and president, and congratulatory addresses from honored guests such as university professors and representatives from the Chinese Embassy.
The students then spoke in response. First, a representative of the new class stood and talked of the expectations and aspirations of being an exchange student. This was followed by one of the returning students giving a heartfelt message welcoming all the new students. To finish, two past graduates provided an informative speech filled with advice on how to study, the best ways to improve Japanese, and how to make the most of an exchange opportunity.
In all, it was a successful affair filled with numerous guests, and one that granted an auspicious beginning to our new students. All of us at the school hope that you will not forget the determination discussed at the ceremony, and we will work to help you find success while you are here.
