All over Japan we’ve been having hot weather. Nevertheless, 15 students from Hong Kong have been withstanding the heat and studying Japanese language and culture.
These past three weeks the students representing Hong Kong have been building up all kinds of experiences including taking part in hands-on extracurricular events. Ou san participated in the events as a teacher’s assistant. For her, the soba (thin Japanese noodles) making was the most fascinating. It was tough work as the students took turns kneading the soba flour with all their might. It was difficult to cut the noodles with the houchou (Soba cutting tool) and the noodles came out more like thicker udon (thick Japanese noodles). Regardless, the noodles were wonderful because they made them together. Even though it was challenging, everybody had a great time!
The three weeks really flew by! Even so, these students were still able to have so many wonderful experiences and made good memories. I hope that because of this they will have more of an interest in Japan and will continue to study Japanese language. Please come back and enjoy Japan again!
